The Journey from Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
In this stirring narrative, we explore the emotional events of Good Friday, a day filled with despair and sorrow for Jesus' disciples. Peter sleeps and denies knowing Jesus. Judas betrays Him, while Mary weeps. Unbeknown to them, the despair of this day is just temporary, with the promise of resurrection - Sunday's coming.
As we traverse through the ordeals of the day, the picture of a suffering Jesus emerges. Struggling with His inevitable fate, Jesus walks to Calvary, His body staggering, His blood dripping, and His spirit ablaze. The crucifixion is intensely moving as Romans cruelly nail His hands to the cross. Yet amidst this sorrow, there is a whisper of hope - 'It's only Friday. Sunday's coming'.
Friday descends into darkness as sin appears to triumph, the world rejoices and evil grins. In this spiritual vacuum, hope seems lost as death emerges victorious, and Satan appears to have the last laugh. The day ends with Jesus' burial and a soldier rolling a rock over His tomb.
Yet, this somber tale does not end here. As the narrator repeatedly affirms, 'It's Friday - but Sunday's coming.' Throughout the dark trials of Good Friday, the hope and promise of the Resurrection on Sunday is a constant refrain. The suspense mounts as we leave the Friday behind and look ahead to the dawn of Sunday's glory.
